This apprenticeship is for people working in a senior care role with responsibility for supervising others, providing guidance and direction, or working autonomously with judgement and accountability.

An online multiple-choice test and an online professional discussion with an External Independent Assessor.

Before you start

Entry requirements and workplace support

Learner requirements

  • Work in a senior role with responsibility for supervising other staff
  • Complete an enhanced DBS process before starting
  • Meet the Care Certificate requirements before the end of learning
  • Learners under 19 without GCSE grade 4/C or Level 2 English and maths must study and pass Functional Skills Level 1

Employer partnership

Your employer must provide a genuine senior care role, opportunities to supervise others, suitable workplace support and access to the evidence needed to demonstrate competence.

Delivery takes place monthly, remotely or in the workplace, with one-to-one tutor support and feedback between sessions.

Funding and fees

Confirm the right funding route

The current maximum apprenticeship funding band is £4,000. Final funding arrangements are confirmed before enrolment. The Level 3 Diploma may also be paid for privately by a learner or employer, or through an Adult Learning Loan, subject to eligibility.
